School Recess

Contrary to the belief that recess takes away instruction time from students, recess can in fact help raise test scores, according to Dr. Peter A. Ross, assistant professor of education at Mercer's Tift College of Education. A nationally certified school psychologist, Ross has served as a consultant to school systems on recess and regularly consults with schools and school systems about behavior management, positive discipline programs and developmentally appropriate curriculum development for children.
