Become a Recess Advocate in Your State!

If you believe in the Child's Right to Play and that every child has a need for and deserves recess, then we need your help! An estimated 40% of all elementary schools have either eliminated or are in the process of eliminating recess.

We must stand up for the children, they can't do it themselves. Volunteers will be supplied with research supporting the child's need for recess and are asked to support any group or person fighting for the children's right for recess in their state.

You will be referred to people that contact People C.A.R.E. and the IPA with concerns for their (your) state or local recess practices. Volunteers will keep in contact with such people, talk to the press when needed, help organize and motivate the recess movement in their state, and offer themselves as a resource and emotional support for those who need it.

Don't think you will be going at this alone. I have been in your shoes and have won the fight for recess. I know what it takes and it's worth it! Feel free to contact me with any questions and keep me updated as to your progress. Together we can save recess for all the children of America.
